Our Stephen Ministers Are Ready to Care for You!
We all go through times in our life when we could benefit from a little extra care and attention. That's what Stephen Ministers are for. Stephen Ministers are members of the Allen Park Presbyterian Church who have been trained to provide confidential, one-to-one, Christian care to people who are going through a difficult time. They will listen, care, encourage, pray with and for you, and provide weekly support for you as long as your need persists. If you would like to find out more about Stephen Ministry for yourself or someone you know (possibly a friend, neighbor, coworker, or relative) talk with one of our Stephen Leaders: Art Hughes (313-383-2589) or Chris Mayer (313-562-1943). Our Stephen Ministers are ready to bring God's love and care into your life.
Baptism Schedule
The next Sundays that the Sacrament of Baptism will be observed are May 9 (Mother’s Day), and June 19, 2011 (Father’s Day). Parents having their first child baptized will have to meet with Doug prior to the date of the baptism. Rouge Factory Tour with Tillers
Join the Tillers on Saturday, May 14, at 10 AM for the Rouge Factory Tour at The Henry Ford. We will be making advanced reservations and must pay in advance. There are no refunds or can-cellations. The ticket cost is $13.50 for ages 13-61, $12.50 for ages 62 and over, $10 for ages 2-12. Please contact Cheryl Laemmel by Sunday, April 24 to make your reservation. New Members’ Class
If you, or someone you know, is interested in joining Allen Park Presbyterian Church, we will be conducting a new members' class on Saturday, May 21, 2011 from 9 a.m. to noon in the Parlor. Free toddler care upon request, and continental breakfast included. Come and find out what it means to be a Presbyterian and learn more about Allen Park Presbyterian Church from our Pastor, Doug Blaikie. At the end of the class, you will have the opportunity to join the church. New Members will then be recognized during worship at a later date. Easter Flower Memorial ORDERS
If you would like to dedicate memorial flowers in memory, honor or in celebration of loved ones, please place your order in the church office now through April 19, 2011. The cost is $25. Special order/memorial forms are available in the church office. Please make checks payable to APPC. A special booklet will also be printed.
Early Bird Camp Specials
If you “SIGN UP” for summer camps at Camp Wakanda BEFORE May 1, 2011, you will be able to take advantage of a lower camp price. Signing up early helps our staff prepare, well in advance, for the busy camping season. If you sign up after May 1, you will pay the regular price.
