February 2-4 - Waverunners Winter Work Weekend IV
Thanks to the Waverunners for, once again, opening the camp for the season and tackling the “project to be named later.” Whether it’s been building bunks or benches, installing appliances, laying tile or framing pictures, the tradition of this weekend has always been work-hard/play-hard. Thanks for your help in the past and please sign up again! Because we’ll be working, the cost for the entire weekend is only… $15 adults, $10 kids, pre-K is free
February 9-11 - Church Family Winter Retreat
If you haven't experienced Wakanda in the wintertime, you don't want to miss this intergenerational weekend… sledding for the kids, skiing at Treetops about 15 minutes away (great slopes for beginners and experts alike), maybe a little ice skating on the lake (weather and shovels permitting), a whole lot of hot chocolate and hang-out time by the fire, absolutely breathtaking walks through the woods that you have never heard so silent and plenty of fellowship, worship and spiritual refreshment with your APPC family. For adults and youth, the cost is $35. K-5 cost is $30 (free for pre-K).
February 16-18 - SHYC Winter Retreat
Yes, it’s true, the youth from First Presbyterian Church of Sarasota will be flying in from Florida to join us. It’s our chance to return some of the hospitality they showered on us and share a big part of our lives (Wakanda) with them. It promises to be a weekend you won’t want to miss! Your camp committee is hard at work preparing the schedule and fees for the 2007 summer camping season. The goal is to have them finalized and published in the January 7 edition of the Lite. Once the schedule is released, camp staff applications will be accepted.
