Sunday Church School
Faith Flight, based upon the Workshop Rotation Model, is our Sunday morning Christian Education program for youth grades K through 8th which meets most Sundays during our program year (September through May) from 9 to 10 a.m. Join us in the chapel at 8:55 a.m. at our "Pre-flight" meeting as we ready ourselves for the flight (parents may attend Adult Bible Study or the 11 a.m. worship service). Faith Flight classes begin after the pre-flight and the youth are escorted to their respective "workshops" by the Stewards (adult and teen helpers). Faith Flight classes end at 10 a.m. Worship begins at 10:30 a.m. in the Sanctuary

Milestones Ministry
The Milestones Ministry was started in September 2005 as a means to bring families together, support them in their faith walk, and help the parents and congregation alike in the continuous fulfillment of the child's baptismal vows.  The Milestones are intended to help the child along in his or her faith development and also in understanding how to live as a Christian believer.  There is a Milestone established for each year of a child's life, from age 2 through 7th grade.  Examples are Presentation of Bibles, Stewardship and Service, Family Devotions, and Worship.  The ministry involves a class for parents and child on the particular topic for their age group, and often a follow-up project to do at home to reinforce the subject matter.  Following completion of the Milestones class and project each child is recognized in worship.  Information about each Milestones class is mailed to the children in each grade prior to the class.  The Lite and THE GOOD WORD also contain information about upcoming Milestone classes.

Sunday Toddler Care and Pre-School -
Toddler Care is provided from 9 to 10 a.m. and from 10:30 until the conclusion of worship in the Toddler Room which is located upstairs in the main church building. We also have a "cry room" overlooking the sanctuary where you see and hear the service while attending to your young child. Please ask an usher for the location. There is also a Preschool Class at 10:30 a.m. in the Preschool Room.

Confirmation Class

Confirmation Class is a yearlong study in which 9th graders take their journey of becoming members of the church. The process officially begins in the summer when you are a "rising" ninth grader by attending Adventure Camp (white water rafting in West Virginia), then attending Confirmation Classes during our regular program year (every other Sunday from 9 to 10 a.m. in the SHYC Room (September through May), followed by attendance at Confirmation Camp at Camp Wakanda during the summer you will be a "rising" 10th grader, and concludes at Confirmation Sunday in the September after Confirmation Camp.

Adult Bible Study
Sunday Morning Adult Bible Study - Two adult Bible study classes are held every Sunday from 9 to 10 a.m. in the Parlor and Social Room led by Rev. Doug Blaikie and Rev. Melodie Jones.

New Members' Classes (Inquirer's Classes)
Anyone who would like to "join" Allen Park Presbyterian Church may do so after worship each Sunday by simply going to Rev. Blaikie's office. A few Elders are available to accept your desire to become a member of APPC. After you "become" a member in this manner, you will be asked to take a series of three New Members's Classes that are offered 3-4 times per year on Sunday mornings from 9 to 10 a.m. There is no cost. If you have any questions, please contact our membership Secretary, Virginia Horvath at virginia@appc.us or by calling 313-383-0100, Ext. 15.

Men's Prayer Breakfast
Our men's prayer breakfast group meets at 8 a.m. on the first and third Saturday of each month in the Packard Room at the Best Western Inn on Enterprise Drive in Allen Park (along I-94 near Oakwood). Our meetings end at 9 a.m. It's an opportunity to learn about and strengthen your Christian faith in an atmosphere of fellowship and understanding. For more information or to be included on the e-mail distribution list, contact group facilitator, Russ Carlson at this link: double-click here for more info about the APPC Men's Prayer Breakfast

Worry-Free Wednesdays
Our church hosts a mid-week intergenerational gathering of members and friends most Wednesdays during our program year (September through May). It all starts with a catered, home-style dinner from 6:15 to 7 p.m. followed by a choice of "workshops" for every age group including free toddler care. One of our weekly choices is Adult Bible Study with Rev. Doug Blaikie at 7 p.m. in the chapel. Registration is not necessary and there is no cost. If you would like to join us for dinner beforehand, please register each week by using the Quick Sign-up Sheet during worship or contacting the church office at 313-380-0100. The cost is $5 per person or $15 per family.
